New Albirex Niigata defender Lim You-Hwan is confident he will boost the fortunes of his club after they announced his tentative signing on Tuesday.
The one-time South Korea international previously played for Koyto Sanga in 2003 and has been training with his new club with a view to completing his medical by the end of this week.
“I understand the team is in a tough position,” said the centre-back, who will arrive from two seasons at China’s Shanghai Shenxin.
“I want to adjust to the team as quickly as possible, understand what [manager Masaaki Yanagishita] expects of me, and help Albirex win.”
The Denka Big Swan outfit lie 17th in the table following their two defeats in the opening two matchdays of the MEIJI YASUDA J1 League, last succumbing 3-1 to FC Tokyo on Wednesday.
