Roasso Kumamoto midfielder Koki Kiyotake has been named the 2016 MEIJI YASUDA J2 League Monthly MVP for February and March.
The 25-year-old helped the Kyushu side reach the top of the table for the first time in club history.
The younger brother of Samurai Blue midfielder Hiroshi Kiyotake scored four goals and earned one assist in five appearances.
Kiyotake created many more chances for his teammates, with a team-best 18 crosses in that period.
“This is an incredible honour, and it’s thanks to everyone at Roasso Kumamoto that I can receive this award,” the Oita native said.
“I hope that children watching our games will see that we never give up and keep running till the very end of the match.”
