Kashiwa Reysol have been in good form of late, allowing them to move further from the drop zone. Now they hope to put themselves well clear of the relegation zone altogether with a win over Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo when they clash at the Sapporo Dome on Saturday at 1 pm JST in a match that will be streamed live on the J.League International YouTube channel.
Reysol have lost just one of their last seven matches, taking them from second-to-bottom in the table up a place. More importantly, they’ve now put five points between them and the drop. An improved defense has been the key to Reysol’s rise, having conceded more than one goal only one time in their last seven matches.
If the defense can prove formidable against a dangerous Sapporo attack, they could find themselves eight points from the bottom with just five matches to play, which would be massive for their hopes to spend another season in the top flight.
Consa have settled into the mid-table, riding their red hot spring to move clear of the drop zone and all but guarantee their safety. At their best, Sapporo featured the most dynamic attack in the league, but they have languished of late. Still, that phenomenal attacking verve is in the Consa team and they are always a major threat on the right day.
The J.League announced that up to four matches will be streamed live each week for the 2023 season, bringing one of Asia’s top league’s to fans around the world. The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
