Kashima resume push for AFC Champions League place against Consa

Kashima Antlers have been hovering on the edges of the AFC Champions League places for much of the season, but with time winding down to the campaign’s conclusion, it’s time for them to make their push. They hope to do so on Sunday at 6 pm JST when they host Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo in a match that will be streamed on the J.League International YouTube channel.

Antlers currently sit sixth in the league, but only six points off of third place and the final guaranteed place in the AFC Champions League, so they are very much in the mix. They are also only four points off of fourth, which could be enough to get them into the continental competition. That leaves everything to play for in the final 13 games of the season.

Consa are not nearly as high up the table, currently placed at 11th, but they are well clear of the drop zone and after flirting with relegation in recent years, that is a relief. Plus, they have a thrilling style of play that makes every contest must-watch TV.

The J.League announced that up to four matches will be streamed live each week for the 2023 season, bringing one of Asia’s top league’s to fans around the world. The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
