Vegalta revealed on Tuesday that defender Jiro Kamata will be sidelined for up to a month after suffering a femoral biceps injury in his right thigh.
Kamata picked up the injury during Vegalta’s 2-0 loss at Sanfrecce Hiroshima last Saturday, when he had to leave the pitch in the 72nd minute.
The former Kashiwa Reysol man has played every MEIJI YASUDA J1 League match this term, and even scored a spectacular goal in the matchday 5 draw at Yokohama F.Marinos.
However, he now looks set to miss Vegalta’s tough upcoming ties against FC Tokyo and Urawa Reds, as Susumu Watanabe’s men look to end a four-game losing streak.
