J.League to recognise ex-players Ichikawa & Oshima

The J.League will recognise former players Daisuke Ichikawa and Hideo Oshima for their career achievements at the 2017 J.League Awards after a decision by the league’s board of directors this week.

Ichikawa - a defender who spent 13 seasons at Shimizu S-Pulse before playing for Ventforet Kofu, Mito Hollyhock and Fujieda MYFC - earned well over 400 club appearances in addition to representing Japan at the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

Oshima, who had over 200 appearances each in the J1 and J2 Leagues, played for a number of clubs including Yokohama Flugels, Kyoto Sanga, Yokohama F. Marinos, Albirex Niigata and Consadole Sapporo.

The J.League Awards will take place on December 5 at Yokohama Arena.
