J.League players feature in South Korea’s East Asian Cup squad

The Korea Football Association on Monday named its squad of 23 players for the upcoming EAFF East Asian Cup, drawing on players in the J.League.

Selections from the Japanese top-flight include Vissel Kobe midfielder Jung Woo-young, Sagan Tosu defender Kim Min-hyeok and club team-mate Kim Min-woo.

Goalkeeping pair Gu Sung-yun and Kim Jin-hyeon have also been called up from Consadole Sapporo and Cerezo Osaka respectively, while V-Varen Nagasaki midfielder Lee Yong-jae is included.

The men’s edition of the sub-regional tournament, contested by defending champions Japan, South Korea, North Korea and hosts China, will take place from August 2 to 9 in Wuhan.
