The Japan Football Association on Thursday announced its squad of 23 members for the upcoming EAFF East Asian Cup 2015 in China in August.
Five members of the tournament-winning squad of 2013 feature in the list of J.League players called up, with defensive pair Tomoaki Makino of Urawa Reds and FC Tokyo’s Masato Morishige amongst the names.
Six of Japan’s representatives were drawn from 2014 J.League champions Gamba Osaka, with 2015 First Stage champions Urawa Reds contributing five and FC Tokyo adding another four.
Japan will look to defend their title against hosts China, South Korea and North Korea between August 2 and 9.
