J1 Matchweek 26 recap: Vissel take over top spot in another wild week

The Meiji Yasuda J1 League always delivers and in Matchweek 26 it gave us a new first place team to go along with late goals galore. Let’s check in on all the action:

Vissel Kobe 2, Kyoto Sanga 1

Sanga went in front just minutes into the match, but Vissel fought back through goals by Shuhei Kawasaki and Jean Patric to complete the comeback victory that pushed them to the top of the table.

Kashiwa Reysol 2, Yokohama F·Marinos 0

Reysol were excellent in the second half, scoring twice to delight the yellow-clad home crowd and take down Marinos, dropping the Tricolor out of first place.

Nagoya Grampus 1, Yokohama FC

The Fulie took points off a top three side for the second week in a row as Kazuma Takai scored late to earn a point in Nagoya,

Cerezo Osaka 3, Kawasaki Frontale 0

The Sakura were terrific, especially in the second half, as they stormed to victory and moved within seven points of first place.

Albirex Niigata 1, Urawa Reds 1

Yota Komi played the role of spoiler, scoring late to steal a point for Albi and deal Urawa’s title ambitions a big blow.

Shonan Bellmare 2, Kashima Antlers 2

Kashima scored first, but Bellmare fought back to take the lead and nearly the win, only for Antlers to score in stoppage time and split the points.

Sagan Tosu 0, Sanfrecce Hiroshima 2

The Viola scored one early then added another late in a comprehensive victory for the visitors.

F.C.Tokyo 1, Avispa Fukuoka 2

Ryoga Sato and Yuya Yamagishi each scored within 11 minutes as Avi got back to their winning ways.

Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo 4, Gamba Osaka 0

Supachok Sarachat’s brace led the way for Consa as they played a spectacular match to earn a great win at the Sapporo Dome.
