J1 Matchweek 10 recap: Vissel retain top spot as Sanfrecce go second

Vissel Kobe are still top of the Meiji Yasuda J1 League after picking up a win over the weekend, but there is a new second place team. Let’s check in on that and the rest of the action from Matchweek 10:

Ryo Hatsuse scored the opener on a delicious long distance free kick, Hotaru Yamaguchi added a second and the Vissel defense held a very good Shonan attack at bay to secure all three points in Kobe.

Cerezo Osaka 0, Sanfrecce Hiroshima 1

Douglas Vieira banged home a cross in stoppage time for his fifth goal in as many matches to deliver the Viola a win that took them up to second place, two points off first place Vissel.

Yokohama F·Marinos 1, Nagoya Grampus 1

Kashima turned in a dominant second half, with Hayato Nakama and Yuma Suzuki both scoring before Shoma Doi tallied twice for their second consecutive win.

Yokohama FC 1, Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo 4

Tomoki Kondo scored 38 seconds after kickoff to give the Fulie a lead, but it was all Consa from there, with Yuya Asano’s double leading the way to three away points.
