Kashiwa Reysol’s Naoya Kondo and Kawasaki Frontale’s Kyotaro Yamakoshi will miss the rest of the season due to identical tears to their left knee meniscus.
Centre-back Kondo, who has made seven MEIJI YASUDA J1 League appearances for Reysol this season, suffered his injury during a training match on October 10.
Meanwhile, Yamakoshi, who has yet to feature this campaign, underwent surgery on October 16 at a hospital in Kawasaki.
Both players are expected to require eight weeks to recover fully.
