Nagoya Grampus goalkeeper Seigo Narazaki became the first player to achieve 600 J1 League appearances on Saturday.
The 39-year-old made his league debut in 1995 as a member of Yokohama Flugels, joining Grampus after the club was dissolved following the 1998 season.
Narazaki reached the milestone in Grampus’ 3-1 loss at Kashiwa Reysol on matchday 14 at the weekend.
The custodian has also been a stalwart for Japan, earning 77 caps between 1998 and 2010 and forming a part of the Samurai Blue’s squad at four World Cups.
