Nagoya Grampus on Thursday announced that striker Gustavo will temporarily return to Brazil in order to receive treatment to his right knee.
The 19-year-old’s recovery timetable and expected return to Japan will depend on the diagnosis of local doctors, the teenager’s injuries affecting his contributions this year.
Gustavo, who is in his second campaign with the club, has managed to play a total of just 80 minutes this season, spread over six appearances.
Grampus suffered their second defeat of the MEIJI YASUDA J1 League on Wednesday, slumping to a 3-0 home defeat to Yokohama F.Marinos.
