Grampus legend Joshua Kennedy retires

Former Nagoya Grampus and Australia striker Joshua Kennedy announced his retirement last Friday, ending a professional career which began in 1999.

The 32-year-old joined Grampus in July 2009 and contributed to the club’s first-ever league title in 2010 before being nominated to the J.League’s Best XI that season.

Kennedy also swept to two Golden Boot awards in 2010 and 2011, scoring 64 goals in 133 MEIJI YASUDA J1 League appearances.

He finally left Grampus to travel back to his homeland at the beginning of 2015, wrapping up his career with A-League side Melbourne City FC.
