Vissel Kobe goalkeeper Kim Seung-gyu and Cerezo Osaka goalkeeper Kim Jin-hyeon have been called up to South Korea’s national team ahead of this month’s international fixtures.
The Taeguk Warriors will face Canada in a friendly before taking on Uzbekistan in 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying.
“I hope to end the J.League season with a win so I can join the national team in good form,” Kim Seung-gyu said.
“I won’t be able to play in our Emperor’s Cup match (against Kashima Antlers) but I trust my teammates to win in my stead.”
“I know I’m leaving my club at an important time, but I hope I can make up for that by playing well for my country,” Kim Jin-hyeon also commented.
