Giravanz forward Oshima retires

Giravanz Kitakyushu on Friday announced the retirement of veteran striker Hideo Oshima.

The 36-year-old debuted with Yokohama Flugels in 1998, playing for a number of clubs including Montedio Yamagata, Yokohama F. Marinos and Albirex Niigata.

“That I managed a 19-year career despite my lack of strength or speed is thanks to the help of my managers, coaches, fantastic team- mates, and fans,” Oshima said.

“I’m grateful to have met so many wonderful people.”

He ends his career having scored 42 goals in 208 J1 League appearances and 56 goals in 286 J2 League matches.
