Japanese champions Gamba Osaka stumbled to their third consecutive MEIJI YASUDA J1 League match without a win, drawing 1-1 against Sagan Tosu on Wednesday.
The rescheduled matchday 6 clash at Expo '70 Commemorative Stadium was the third one in as many games during which Kenta Hasegawa’s men went in front, only to surrender their advantage in the second period.
Yasuhito Endo netted for the home team from the penalty spot in the first period, but Sagan came out after the break to dominate in terms of creating scoring opportunities.
The Saga-based outfit were rewarded for their efforts in the 71st minute when Daichi Kamada fired home, and though Takashi Usami subsequently hit the post with a long-range effort, Gamba were ultimately unable to re-seize the initiative.
The draw leaves Gamba in fourth place on five points, the side having played a game more.
