Gamba pen Vietnamese partnership

Gamba Osaka have announced a partnership with the Promotion Fund of Vietnamese Football Talents (PVF).

The organisation focused on raising the Southeast Asian country’s next generation of star players.

As part of the agreement, Gamba youth academy coach Daisuke Machinaka will be dispatched to manage PVF’s U-15 team for one year.

Players from PVF will also be invited to train with the J.League side in the future.

“Our academy has raised players who have played in England, Germany, Spain, Holland, Austria, France, and Turkey,” said Nobuyuki Uenoyama, who represented Gamba’s board of directors.

“Over half of our 37 senior players are academy graduates and I believe we have the most successful youth system in Japan.

“I hope that through this partnership we can help PVF raise players who can play in the J.League, and when that happens I hope many fans from Vietnam will come to our brand new stadium.”
