Gamba head to Sapporo with top half in their sights

Gamba Osaka have made massive leaps in recent months and now have the chance to leap into the top half, but that will only be possible if they can beat Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo on Saturday at 1 pm JST in a match that will be streamed live on the J.League International YouTube channel.

The Nerazzurri were bottom of the table until June, when they turned into a juggernaut and flew up the table. They’ve been one of the best teams in the league throughout the summer and now they sit in 11th place, out of the top half only on goal difference. A win in Sapporo could change that.

Consa won’t be an easy opponent, especially in front of their home fans. They have hit a bit of an offensive slump of late, but got two goals last weekend and began to look more like the all out attacking side that was so potent earlier in the campaign. If they have found their legs going forward again, they will be a real problem for Gamba.

The J.League announced that up to four matches will be streamed live each week for the 2023 season, bringing one of Asia’s top league’s to fans around the world. The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
