Gamba earn comeback win at home

Gamba Osaka earned their first home win in two months with a 2-1 victory over Jubilo Iwata on Friday night in round 12 of the MEIJI YASUDA J1 League First Stage.

Yuki Kobayashi put the visitors up 1-0 early in the match, but Ademilson equalised at the stroke of half-time and Yasuhito Endo scored a 66th-minute game-winner to give the home fans their second league win at the club’s dazzling new Suita Stadium ground.

At Ajinomoto Stadium, FC Tokyo were unable to defeat Sagan Tosu and former manager Massimo Ficcadenti in a 0-0 draw.

The same scoreline appeared at Edion Stadium, where neither Sanfrecce Hiroshima nor Kashiwa Reysol could get across the goal line.

The remaining six matches of the round will be played on Saturday, May 14.
