The sixth and final match day of the 2017 AFC Champions League Group Stage began on Tuesday night, with places in the knockout tournament at stake.
Kawasaki Frontale finished on top of Group G with a 4-0 win against Hong Kong’s Eastern SC, boosted by goals from Rhayner, Shogo Taniguchi, Tatsuya Hasegawa and Tatsuki Nara.
After beating Guangzhou Evergrande on head-to-head results, Frontale will face either Muangthong United or Kashima Antlers in the Round of 16.
At Jeju World Cup Stadium, Gamba Osaka’s campaign ended in the group stage for a second straight year with a 2-0 loss to Jeju United. The 2015 semi-finalists finished with just four points from Group H.
In Wednesday’s action, Antlers will host Muangthong at Kashima Stadium while Urawa Reds will travel to FC Seoul in their quest to claim first place in Group F.
