Five J.Leaguers called up to South Korea squad

The Korean Football Associaton on Monday included five J.League players in their squad of 21 members for next month’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.

Kawasaki Frontale goalkeeper Jung Sung-ryong, Cerezo Osaka goalkeeper Kim Jin-hyeon, Vissel Kobe goalkeeper Kim Seung-gyu, Gamba Osaka defender Oh Jae-suk and Sagan Tosu defender Kim Min-hyeok all got the nod for South Korea.

The national are striving to appear in their ninth straight FIFA World Cup final.

The Taeguk Warriors will open the final round of qualifying at home against China on September 1 before traveling to face Syria in Lebanon on September 6.
