Ficcadenti to leave FC Tokyo

FC Tokyo on Thursday confirmed that current manager Massimo Ficcadenti will depart the club at the end of the 2015 season.

The Italian led the capital club to their best-ever finish in the first division, with a team-best 63 points in the MEIJI YASUDA J1 League.

Tokyo were declared first-stage runners’ up, although their points total ultimately proved insufficient to send them to the post-season MEIJI YASUDA J.League championship.

Ficcadenti will continue to lead the club over the remainder of their Emperor’s Cup campaign though, beginning with their December 26 quarter-final against Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
