Yokohama F. Marinos this week announced that midfielder David Babinski and defender Milos Degenek have been called up by Macedonia and Australia respectively for upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Macedonia will take on Liechtenstein on March 25 and Belarus on March 28, while the Socceroos will face Iraq on March 23 and UAE on March 28.
“It’s a special thing to represent one’s country and it’s really an honour to be called up,” Babinski said. “I want to thank my team-mates for helping me earn this recognition.”
“I’m sorry that I have to leave the team during the break but I’m thankful for the club’s cooperation,” Degenek commented.
“These matches are very important for Australia and I want to work hard and help us get two good results.”
