Yokohama F. Marinos on Tuesday announced the call-up of midfielder David Babunski to Macedonia’s national team for 2018 FIFA World Cup Europe qualifications.

The 23-year-old has two goals in 14 appearances in his debut MEIJI YASUDA J1 League campaign.

“I’m very happy to have been selected for the national team again. Even though we can’t reach the final tournament it’s great to represent my country,” Babunski said.

“We're motivated to earn a good result and improve our FIFA ranking. A lot of young players have been called up and I’m excited to welcome the next generation and help them into the squad.”

Macedonia will face Israel on September 3 and Albania on September 6.
