Endo delighted with Reds move

Wataru Endo is looking forward to turning out for Urawa Reds next season, after they moved to bolster their MEIJI YASUDA J1 League title bid by signing the Japan international from Shonan Bellmare on Wednesday.

The club have moved strongly to bolster Mihailo Petrovic’s squad, after they won the first stage of the league but bowed out in the semi-finals of the post-season championship.

Bellmare talent Endo had been identified as the ideal candidate to add strength in the middle of the park, with the 22-year-old scoring five goals over the course of 31 appearances in his first season in the top flight.

On December 23rd, Urawa Reds officially announced the signing of Endo Wataru from Shonan Bellmare.

“I am very excited to play in the passionate atmosphere of Saitama stadium,” the 22-year-old told the Reds’ official website.

“As a team, Reds have many challenges ahead such as the J.league and AFC Champions League.

“I hope to give everything as a player to win matches and bring home the J.League title to Urawa.”

Endo is already a senior member with the Samurai Blue, and will represent the nation at the AFC Under-23 Championship in Qatar in an attempt to secure progress to the 2016 Rio Olympics.
