The fifth match day of the J.League Yamazaki Nabisco Cup Group Stage took place on Wednesday night as teams continued to struggle for position in their respective groups.
Omiya Ardija remained on top of Group A following their 1-0 win over Jubilo Iwata, while defending champions Kashima Antlers are now out of the tournament after a 3-2 loss to plucky Shonan Bellmare.
In Group B, Kashiwa Reysol fell 2-1 to Albirex Niigata, while Yokohama F. Marinos fought to a 2-1 away win at Avispa Fukuoka thanks to Sho Ito’s stoppage time magic.
Matchday 6 will take place next week on May 25, while the group stage concludes on June 5.
