Defender Inoha returns to Vissel

Vissel Kobe on Tuesday announced the return of defender Masahiko Inoha to the club for the first time since their relegation-struck 2012 season.

The former Samurai Blue member has spent the last three seasons with Jubilo Iwata, becoming a free agent following the 2015 season.

“After I was released by Jubilo I received offers from various teams in and outside of the country, and during the negotiation process I even considered retiring,” Inoha revealed.

“I’m grateful for the efforts of many people who have given me a chance to play for Vissel again in the J1.

“This is a chance for me to accomplish what I left undone after the 2012 season.”

Inoha has also played for FC Tokyo and Kashima Antlers as well as Croatia’s Hajduk Split.

Vissel will start the 2016 MEIJI YASUDA J1 League season at home against Ventforet Kofu on February 27.
