Changes announced to Japan U23 squad

The Japan Football Association has announced Takuma Asano will not be included in the squad for the Japan Under-23 national team’s training camp in Portugal later this week.

Kashiwa Reysol defender Ryosuke Yamanaka, Kawasaki Frontale midfielder Ryota Oshima and Sanfrecce Hiroshima’s Asano will not make the trip due to injuries sustained in this weekend’s MEIJI YASUDA J1 League action.

They will be replaced by Kashiwa Reysol defender Hiroki Akino, Albirex Niigata midfielder Kei Koizumi and JEF United Chiba striker Ado Onaiwu.

Makoto Teguramori’s squad will face Mexico’s U23 side in a friendly as well as Sporting CP in a training match.
