Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo midfielder Chanathip Songkrasin was named the ASEAN Football Federation’s (AFF) Men’s Player of the Year on Saturday night at the AFF Awards 2017 federation’s annual gala.
The Thai star led his country’s national team to their fourth AFF Suzuki Cup title last December and was named MVP of the tournament. He was also named to the AFF’s Best XI for the season.
“I’m very happy to receive these awards,” Chanathip commented.
“I couldn’t have done it without the support of [former Thailand national team manager] Kiatisak Senamuang, our coaching staff, and everyone else who’s helped me.
“I want to work even harder for my team and our supporters so I can improve even more.”
