Cerezo lose to Bangkok Glass in friendly

Cerezo Osaka lost 0-1 to Thai side Bangkok Glass on Saturday in the preseason Singha Yanmar Cup.

Roughly 6,000 fans in attendance at LEO Stadium witnessed former Glass defender Teruyuki Moniwa wearing the captain’s armband for Cerezo.

Meanwhile, the Japanese supporters were delighted to see the return of Yoichiro Kakitani and Kenyu Sugimoto to the attacking line.

However, the MEIJI YASUDA J2 League side were unable to find the back of the net and conceded only lone goal of the match when Macedonian midfielder Darko Tasevski struck with 10 minutes remaining in the first half.

“[This match] gave us a chance to see the strengths of our new players,” manager Kiyoshi Okuma said afterwards.

Cerezo will wrap up their Thailand camp on February 3 before relocating to southern Miyazaki for their second training camp on February 8.
