Cerezo Osaka closed the gap on Yokohama F. Marinos in fourth place with their 2-1 MEIJI YASUDA J1 League win at Sagan Tosu on Sunday.
Victor Ibarbo had got the hosts to a good start with the opener but Kenyu Sugimoto pegged them back two minutes later and Hiroshi Kiyotake notched the winner after the break.
FC Tokyo were however unable to find the breakthrough in their 1-1 draw at Ventforet Kofu on Sunday, with Yoichi Marumaya’s equaliser needed to cancel out Lins opener to secure a share of the spoils.
