Cerezo entertain in Sevilla loss

Cerezo Osaka fell 3-1 to visiting Sevilla in the StubHub World Match 2017 on Monday at Nagai Stadium.

Just over 14,500 fans came to watch the J.League side take on last season’s fourth-place Liga finishers, who took the lead shortly before halftime through striker Wissam Ben Yedder.

The Frenchman scored his second of the match 10 minutes into the second half, but Cerezo responded through Takaki Fukumitsu’s goal to cut the deficit to 2-1.

Colombia international Luis Muriel made it 3-1 in the dying minutes to hand the J.League their second loss in three days against European opposition.

Sevilla will face Kashima Antlers in the second match of the MEIJI YASUDA J.League World Challenge on Saturday, July 22.
