Avispa look to build on J.League YBC Levain Cup triumph against Gamba

Avispa Fukuoka are still basking in the glow of the most famous day in club history, but they have to pivot quickly to a trip north for a clash with Gamba Osaka on Saturday at 3 pm JST live on the J.League International YouTube channel.

The Wasps brought home the first major trophy in club history on Saturday, defeating Urawa Reds in the J.League YBC Levain Cup final. It was a day to remember for Avispa and now they hope to carry that momentum into league play.

Fukuoka are chasing their best finish in club history. They currently sit eighth in the table, which would match their best-ever mark, and have every opportunity to move up in the last three weeks to add a record league performance to their cup triumph for an even more historic 2023 campaign.

Gamba have had a difficult run of form, losing each of the last four matches. While they are safe from relegation and locked into the bottom half of the table, they will surely aim to finish the season strong and send their supporters into the winter on a high.

The J.League announced that up to four matches will be streamed live each week for the 2023 season, bringing one of Asia’s top league’s to fans around the world. The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
