Cerezo Osaka fought Chinese titans Guangzhou Evergrande to a 0-0 draw at Yanmar Stadium, holding off strong pressure in the first half only to turn it around in the second with sustained attacking from the likes of Yoichiro Kakitani and Kenyu Sugimoto.
Playing away at Suwon Bluewings, Kashima Antlers earned a 2-1 win on the strength of Mu Kanazaki’s brace to rise to the top of Group H with four points from their first two matches.
The ACL will resume on March 6 and 7 with Round 3 as Kashiwa Reysol host Kitchee, Cerezo Osaka travel to Buriram United, Kashima Antlers visit Sydney FC and Kawasaki Frontale welcome Melbourne Victory.
