Kashima Antlers on Monday announced that striker Dinei has suffered a severe injury to his right anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus.

The Brazilian was forced off the field in the 67th minute against Yokohama F. Marinos last Saturday after colliding with an opposing player.

Dinei joined the club in early March and has recorded one goal in four MEIJI YASUDA J1 League appearances for the seventh-placed side.

With his injury expected to rule him out till the end of 2015 however, it is uncertain whether the former Celta Vigo player will be able to make another outing for Toninho Cerezo’s side this season.
