Antlers seal convincing win over Brisbane

Kashima Antlers got their AFC Champions League campaign back on track with a 3-0 win over Brisbane Roar in their Group E encounter on Tuesday.

The 2016 Japanese champions had fallen to a defeat to Muangthong United prior and were determined to bounce back in front of their fans, with Yuma Suzuki netting a spectacular volley to get the ball rolling before half-time.

Naomichi Ueda added a second from a corner kick before Yasushi Endo rounded off the scoring in the 79th minute to propel Masatada Ishii’s men top of their group standings.

Kawasaki Frontale meanwhile valiantly held Guangzhou Evergrande to a 1-1 draw at Tianhe Stadium following Yu Kobayashi’s dramatic 95th-minute equaliser.

Alan netted the opener for the Chinese giants to make it three goals in three ACL games, but Frontale refused to surrender and searched for the leveller, which Kobayashi fired home from the penalty spot after Yu Hanchao’s handball.
