AFC Champions League Two 25/26 Recap: G-Osaka make it five wins from five with five-goal win

Gamba Osaka maintained their 100 percent record in the AFC Champions League Two 2025/26 on Thursday, as the 2025 MEIJI YASUDA J1 LEAGUE side cruised to a 5-0 win away to Eastern FC.

Ryoya Yamashita set G-Osaka on their way to a fifth consecutive win in Group F in just the fourth minute at Mong Kok Stadium, using his searing pace to break in behind the Eastern defence on the right flank and then coolly converting from inside the penalty area.

Yamashita then turned provider as G-Osaka doubled their lead in the 19th minute, sending a deep cross to the back post where Shota Fukuoka did superbly to half-volley home with his left foot.

Things got even better for the visitors 14 minutes later, and after Keisuke Kurokawa and Tokuma Suzuki exchanged passes to get Kurokawa into the left-hand side of the Eastern area, he progressed to the byline and cut back a low ball for Shuto Abe to tuck in from close range.

Eastern went very close to pulling one back at a goalmouth scramble three minutes before the interval, but the G-Osaka defence - and in particular goalkeeper Masaaki Higashiguchi - stood firm to ensure the visitors went in three goals to the good at half-time.

G-Osaka continued to have the better of things after the restart, and Deniz Hummet added his name to the scoresheet in the 59th minute, making no mistake from inside the six-yard box after Riku Handa had drilled across an inviting ball from the right.

Nineteen-year-old Gaku Nawata then added the icing to G-Osaka’s cake and became their fifth scorer of the night with a spectacular finish in the 75th minute, receiving a long pass from Genta Miura inside the Eastern box before cutting back to make space for himself and arcing an unstoppable drive beyond goalkeeper Liu Fu Yuen and into the far side of the net.

G-Osaka will now play their final group stage game at home to Ratchaburi FC on Thursday 11th December, with their place in the next round already secured.
