Kashiwa Reysol defeat Shonan Bellmare and advance to the Prime Stage! Kazuyoshi Miura, returns to the starting lineup and sets new record

J.League YBC Levain Cup, Round 2 of the group stage took place on August 5th and determined that Kashiwa Reysol will advance from Group D to the Prime Stage.

In Group A, Kawasaki Frontale played at Kashima Antlers. The away side took the lead through a goal from Kaoru Mitoma in the 43rd minute. Ryota Oshima added another in the 47th minute, and Reo Hatate made it 3-0 in the 55th. Although they conceded twice later on into the game, Frontale returned to Kawasaki with a 3-2, their second consecutive victory in this tournament. In the other match, Nagoya Grampus topped Shimizu S-Pulse 3-0 with goals from Yuichi Maruyama, Mateus and Ryogo Yamasaki. They as well have won two in a row.

In Group B, Cerezo Osaka hosted Urawa Reds. Yuta Toyokawa claimed the only goal in the 82nd minute. And so the Osakans are yet another of the clubs leading their group’s table with two consecutive victories.

In Group C, Consadole Sapporo and Sanfrecce Hiroshima faced each other hoping to go for consecutive wins. Sapporo took the lead through a goal by Takuro Kaneko, in the 14th minute. Although they conceded an equalizer, Douglas Oliveira made it 2-1 in the 61st minute, and that as enough to secure the three points. Yokohama FC traveled to Tosu, where the deadlock was broken only in the 91st minute, when Yuji Senuma found the net. This match also saw 53-year-old Kazuyoshi Miura back to the starting lineup and playing 63 minutes.

In Group D, Kashiwa Reysol defeated Shonan Bellmare 1-0 thanks to Hiroto Goya’s winner in the 48th minute. With such result, the winners advance to the Prime Stage. Finally, Oita Trinita vs Gamba Osaka ended with a 1-1 score. The away side took the lead through a goal from Patrick in the 29th minute. However, six minutes later, Kozuka Kazuki tied the game for Oita.
