Vissel’s perch atop the league under threat as F.C.Tokyo head to Kobe

Vissel Kobe are still atop the table, as they have been for nearly the entire season, but their perch is under threat as F.C.Tokyo take to Noevir Stadium Kobe on Saturday at 2 pm JST in a match that will be streamed live on the J.League International YouTube channel.

The Ushi are unbeaten in five straight, but two of those came via draw and that includes last week against Kashiwa Reysol. That allowed Yokohama F·Marinos and Nagoya Grampus to move within three and four points of Vissel, respectively.

With Vissel’s cushion shrinking, they need to put their best foot forward week in, week out. Fortunately, they have the league’s leading scorer Yuya Osako leading the way, while Yoshinori Muto has been a creative wizard and tops J1 in assists.

Facing Vissel is tough enough, but F.C.Tokyo will be getting an especially focused Ushi and in Kobe. That’s a tall task and Gas haven’t been great away from home, but between Diego Oliveira and Teruhito Nakagawa, they have two dangerous attackers who could steal them points.

The J.League announced that up to four matches will be streamed live each week for the 2023 season, bringing one of Asia’s top league’s to fans around the world. The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
