Top and bottom meet as Vissel take on Yokohama FC

Vissel Kobe have been the top team in the Meiji Yasuda J1 League for nine weeks running and this week they get a visit from the league’s bottom team when Yokohama FC come to town on Sunday at 2 pm JST in a match that will be streamed live on the J.League International YouTube channel.

The Ushi have stumbled a bit of late, taking full points from just one of their last five matches. That has brought Yokohama F·Marinos, Nagoya Grampus and Sanfrecce Hiroshima right onto their heels for the top spot in the table, putting pressure on Vissel to start winning again and protect their position.

Yokohama, despite their struggles this season, have been playing better in recent weeks and just picked up their first win of the campaign. Yuri Lara’s goal and Svend Brodersen’s great play in goal made the difference as the Fulie beat Albirex Niigata, 1-0, and now they head to Kobe with full confidence.

The J.League announced that up to four matches will be streamed live each week for the 2023 season, bringing one of Asia’s top league’s to fans around the world. The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
