Marinos try to extend unbeaten streak as Sanga come to Yokohama

Yokohama F·Marinos are unbeaten in their last five, a run that has taken them up to second in the Meiji Yasuda J1 League table. Now, they aim to make it six and maybe leap up to the top spot in the league as Kyoto Sanga come to town on Sunday at 2 pm JDT in a match that will be streamed live on the J.League International YouTube channel.

The Tricolor’s unbeaten streak has included a win over first place Vissel Kobe and a draw with third place, so they’ve proven their quality against the top teams, and they are fresh off of a dominant win at Sagan Tosu. Anderson Lopes leads the league with seven goals, while Élber has been in especially outstanding form of late and now leads the league with seven assists.

Sanga haven’t been as good of late, winning just one of their last five, but they are still 12th in the table because of their three-match winning streak in March. That both delivered crucial points and showed their ability to be very competitive when they’re in the right form. They’ll be hoping to regain that form and topple Marinos this weekend.

The J.League announced that up to four matches will be streamed live each week for the 2023 season, bringing one of Asia’s top league’s to fans around the world. The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
