Koki Ogawa in the spotlight as Yokohama FC take on Sapporo

Yokohama FC have struggled in the early part of the season, but they have had a clear bright spot in Koki Ogawa. The striker has made the leap from the second division look easy, which is crucial for the Fulie as they need him to carry the team when Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo visit Yokohama on Saturday at 2 pm JST in a match that will be streamed live on the J.League International YouTube channel.

Ogawa has five goals this season, an astounding tally for a Yokohama team that has just seven goals total on the campaign, one of which came on an own goal. He’s been a one-man attack and even the best defenses in the league have had no luck containing the star frontman.

Keeping Ogawa in check is difficult enough for the top teams, but it will be even tougher for a Consa side that has allowed the most goals in the league this season. Fortunately, they have an excellent attack, led by Takuro Kaneko and Yuya Asano, that has allowed them to notch some points in thrilling shootouts.

You can bet goals are on tap in this one with Ogawa going up a Consa team that is used to the ball finding the back of the net on both sides.

The J.League announced that up to four matches will be streamed live each week for the 2023 season, bringing one of Asia’s top league’s to fans around the world. The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
