Kashiwa Reysol have spent much of the season near the bottom of the table, setting them up to potentially be in the relegation fight to the end. That makes every point precious and on Saturday at 7 pm JST they will be trying to get a much-needed result against Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo in a match that will be streamed live on the J.League International YouTube channel.

Reysol have been betrayed by an impotent attack in 2023. Their nine goals are three fewer than any other team in the league, which is astounding considering they have the talented Mao Hosoya and Matheus Sávio up front. Those two have combined for seven goals and two assists this season, but they’ve gotten no help and that’s why Reysol are just two points clear of the bottom.

Goals have not been the problem for Sapporo, whose 32 goals lead the league. Yuya Asano leads the way with nine, but he gets help from throughout the team to make for an attack that is the envy of J1. Consa just have to figure out their defense, which has conceded the third-most goals in the top flight and gives Reysol a pathway to not just score this weekend, but win.

The J.League announced that up to four matches will be streamed live each week for the 2023 season, bringing one of Asia’s top league’s to fans around the world. The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
