Kawasaki Frontale’s season may have taken a big turn on Saturday. Toru Oniki’s side put in their best performance of the campaign in a 3-1 win at Avispa Fukuoka, flashing the terrific form that has led them to so many trophies in recent seasons and primed them for Wednesday’s 2 pm JST clash with Kyoto Sanga in a match that will be streamed live on the J.League International YouTube channel.

Putting in a good 90 minutes and taking all three points against a good team like Avi was a big step forward for Frontale, who have struggled all season. They entered with just two wins all season and were near the bottom of the table, which is foreign territory for a team that has dominated the league for years.

Frontale dominated the ball in Fukuoka, though, and they were able to find different ways to pierce the opposing defense. That was a big step forward and, more importantly, their defense held up in transition, which hasn’t been the case of late.

Now, Frontale will be feeling good about themselves and thinking they are about to embark on a run up the table, but Sanga will not be too keen to oblige. The men from Kyoto have been very balanced this season, showing quality at the front and back that makes them a difficult matchup for any opponent.

Will Sanga be able to stymie Frontale and halt any potential run of wins? Or will Frontale snatch some away points and prove that they are on the way up?

The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
