Activities in Asian Countries by J.League Clubs

J. League clubs become active in other Asian countries

As the J. League have undertaken, the clubs of the league have actively been involved in expanding their markets in Asia lately as well. In 2012, Fagiano Okayama and Avispa Fukuoka competed in Myanmar and Vietnam, respectively, as part of the league activities. The Under-15 teams of Cerezo Osaka and Vissel Kobe have also held training camps in Thailand.

In 2013, Shonan Bellmare, Jubilo Iwata, Nagoya Grampus and Cerezo had training camps while Kawasaki Frontale and Kashima Antlers played games in Vietnam. Cerezo competed against the Myanmar national team in a friendly in 2014, while Gamba played in a friendly match in Indonesia in January, 2015.

As introduced above, some clubs have gotten out of Japan to reach out to other Asian nations on their own.

And as of January, 2015, Consadole Sapporo, Shimizu S-Pulse, Iwata, Cerezo, Kobe, Yokohama F. Marinos and FC Ryukyu have signed on partnerships with clubs in Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia and Malaysia.
